Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival
Welcome to Cairo, Egypt
We will be met at Cairo International Airport and transferred to our hotel at the foot of the PyramidsThe drive to the hotel takes around an hour

Day 2: Giza Pyramids, the Sphinx & Perfumery &Papyrus Institute
Today we will explore the Giza Plateau, your chance to personally stand where the Ancient Egyptians stood thousands of years ago, next to the Great Pyramid of Cheops, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World and the only one that still exists. Later, an experience not to miss is venturing down into the burial chamber of Menkaure (Third Pyramid).
We continue our adventure with a camel ride through the Sahara for those who are interested
We finish our visit to the plateau with the Guardian Angel of the area, the monolithic and iconic Sphinx.
The day is not over yet, This afternoon we will visit a local perfume and essence factory to learn about Chakra Healing Oils that date back to the time of the Pharaoh’s and all their healing benefits.
Here at the perfumery you can also purchase the base oil of your favourite fragrance.
and we will visit the government regulated Papyrus Institute. We will now experience how the ancients recorded their history on the first paper ever produced.
See the processes and efforts it took to make this ancient form of paper. Also, enjoy the beautiful illustrative Egyptian art and stories painted depicting Egyptian lifestyle and culture.

Day 3: Aswan and Philae Temple
After your breakfast we will check out of the hotel and transfer to Cairo Airport for internal flight to Aswan, Egypt’s sunniest city.
Our visit today is to the beautiful Philae Temple, dedicated to Goddess Isis. It was one of the most important pilgrimage centers in Egypt and the last Egyptian temple to remain in use

Tonight we will enjoy a journey to the Nubian village; mingle with local Nubian people in this charming village, a fun way to relax and soak up some of the region’s fascinating past.

Day 4: Abu Simbel
An early start, but well worth it! We will take a 3 hour drive through the desert towards the border of Sudan to reach the spectacular and iconic Abu Simbel, Temple of Ramses II and also the Temple of his beloved wife Nefertari.
This temple complex was relocated in the 60’s in a huge engineering achievement due to the construction of the High Dam.
This evening we explore the colorful local markets in Aswan, a chance to work on your bargaining skills, try some local food and smoke shisha.

Day 5: Felucca on the Nile
After breakfast we will checkout of the hotel and enjoy the day sailing in style down the Nile on a traditional felucca (a flat bottom vessel that has been associated with the Nile since ancient times).

Day 6: KomOmbo / Luxor
After breakfast, we disembark the mighty felucca and drive to Komombo, the dual temple of Horus & Sobek.
Here at Komombo we ask you to ponder your dualities, the good and the bad, the old and the new, the past and the present, the highs and the lows, the strengths and the weaknesses, the successes and lessons. We continue our drive to Luxor and check into our hotel again on the edge of the Nile for 2 nights. Sonesta St. George

Day 7: Valley of Kings and Hatshepsut
Optional Hot Air Balloon, a bird’s eye view over the two banks of the River Nile in historical Thebes (Luxor).
After breakfast we drive to the West Bank to visit The Valley of the Kings, climb down into the spectacularly decorated tombs of the Pharaohs.
After that, we visit the Mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, the first female ruler of ancient Egypt with the full authority of a pharaoh.

Day 8: Karnak Temples

Karnak Temples at the East bank of the River Nile, the temple complex is huge, covering an area of 1 ½ x 3 km, dedicated to god Amun and was also the centre of his worship with his wife Mut and their son Khons. There are over 25 temples and chapels in the complex.
The Karnak complex includes several of the finest examples of ancient Egyptian design and architecture. Among them is the Hypostyle Hall, considered one of the world’s great architectural achievements. It is filled with 134 enormous pillars, the highest 70 feet tall, and each about 45 feet around.

Day 9-11: Hurghada Red Sea
Settle in for a few days of sun, sand and the beautiful turquoise water of the Red Sea.
This area boasts some of the most spectacular diving and snorkeling in the world.
Optional tours including snorkeling are available and can be booked on arrival at hotel.
Our booking includes a comprehensive meal and drinks package for the duration of our stay here in Hurghada.

Day 12: Red Sea-Cairo
After our few days of sun, snorkeling and relaxation, we enjoy some breakfast before we depart the Red Sea and drive to back Cairo.
We return to where we began at the foot of the Pyramids and check in to our hotel

Day 13: Cairo City and Egyptian Museum
After breakfast, we step into the energy of the city that never sleeps; we experience the crazy Cairo traffic as. We drive into downtown Cairo and Tahrir Square, scene of the 2011 revolution and location of the Egyptian Museum.
The current Egyptian Museum was built before the discovery of the treasures of King Tutankhamen and his famous solid gold funerary mask so it is overflowing with ancient artifacts and would take many, many visits to see in its entirety so we highlight the best of the best.
This afternoon we will visit a local perfume and essence factory to learn about Oils that date back to the time of the Pharaoh’s. Here at the perfumery you can also purchase the base oil of your favorite fragrance.
Continue driving to the area of Coptic Cairo to visit The Church of Virgin Mary “the hanging church” and The Church of St. Sergius where the Holy Family stayed during their flight to Egypt. Then we move to Islamic Cairo to visit The Citadel of Saladin, with the famous Alabaster mosque of Mohammed Ali.
The day isn’t over yet, we’ll explore Khan El Khalili, Cairo’s old bazaar.

Day 14: Departure from Cairo
